Exterior House Design Ideas

Are you planning of owning a house one day? Are you looking for an inspiration to build that dream house of yours? Well then, we've got what you're looking for.

Today, we're going to be giving you some of the best house inspirations for your very own dream house. First, let's set our preferences. Personally speaking, I like the spacious modern minimalist. But this is now. Back in the days I now I want tiny houses and the log cabin types. One thing in particular that I remained constant - I love wood. Any house design with of wood is perfect. Take a look at some of the houses that I've showcased in my previous posts, wood is very prominent in them.

Enough talking. Let's get to some of the house design ideas I was talking to you about.

This simple modern house is my thing. I like the high ceiling and the floor to ceiling windows to match it. My hubby says this idea isn't really safe at all. Well, true-true that is why I highly advice that you do a lot of research of the area where you live before you re-create this house idea. You know, some things may be worth replicating such as pretty houses like these, but when it's your safety that's at stake, then you might as well just let it go. No, the curtains won't help you.

Who would've thought that glass jalousies would look this good. My grandma's house in the province used to have wooden jalousie windows. We all hated it. Because it looked like we're inside a nursery classroom. Well, come to think of it, my grandma was indeed a teacher in nursery school. Makes a lot more sense now. Ha-ha.

So, about this house. The glass jalousie helped create the illusion of more space inside, right? You see, when the furniture you have inside the house looks stuffy, everything else that surrounds it shouldn't. Else, your house will look altogether stuffy. You don't want that, right?

A kitchen that opens to the patio? Why not! Personally, I love my kitchen. And kitchen space is as important as every other part of the house.

One thing I love about modern architecture is their brilliant ways to work with the angles of the house to allow more light to come inside the house. This house was created with a space at the center that has the open sky for the ceiling. This open space allows light to come in in every part of the house. It's brilliant right? Well, this may not be a good idea for some, but you can't deny  there's the energy-saving idea here. Also, rooftop access anytime!

I must proclaim that exterior stone wall house design is my thing now. Just look at this house. So, what is the thing about having a stone wall, you might ask. Everything. Based on research stone walls are more durable and more affordable than any materials out there. Stone walls can withstand weather conditions. Although, some of you might be able to help us answer our own question on heat/cold insulation with this type of wall option.

Here's one exterior house design that I really love. This house just has a lot of space in it, don't you think? from the inside you can already have a peak at the living room at the left, the kitchen at the middle back and the study room on the right. The patio is also something to talk about too. If you have guests that loves the outdoors then they'll be a  constant visitor at your place. Smokers will also have more reasons to hang around outside.

Another angle of the house shows the bedroom at the left hand side. You might also want to note the landscaping of this house. Absolutely perfect, if you ask me. I also like that the outside is well lit as much as it is on the inside. The kids and your dogs won't have trouble playing outside while the adults chatter the night away.

Stairs Design Ideas

I have a fascination with stairs.

My whole life I lived in houses with stairs. But back then I hated them. I thought they were only made for adults with long legs. I thought they were dangerous. I thought they were scary. That's because the stairs in my parent'd old house were dark and boring. Until, my auntie, who lives next door renovated her own house. She painted her stairs light blue for the steps and white on the side wall. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Simple but beautiful. That's when my parents re-painted our old house. Including our massive stairs.

You see, I realized that when they changed the color of the stairs the whole house shined. Suddenly, everything else around is beautiful. Of course, it was really all about the painted walls, new light fixtures and furniture. But it was also about the stairs that leads to bedrooms. Suddenly, it was inviting to go up and down it. You'd wish it was socially acceptable to hangout there instead of in the living room.

Anyway, that is why we're here. To prove to everyone else that it will be totally acceptable to hangout at this part of the house. Especially when you have stairs like these:

I had been gushing at this inspiration for the longest time now.

A well-lit stairs is everything for the kids and the elders.

Now stop staring. Well, that's about if for today.

What's the important lesson you learned today? That kids are usually most scared of the stairs in your house. You have the option to make it look fun for them to climb them or you spend their entire childhood like trotting beside them up and down. Stop neglecting those stairs and be creative!
